This small patch of woods — just about 30 acres — has a maze of wide, easy, and flat paths that let you meander through a red pine stand and mixed forests. There is a small pond and meadow, as well.

The loop around the park is about 0.8 mile, and the main path is smooth enough for some wheelchairs.

The land is a park due to the far-seeing nature of Percival Baxter, who gave it to the city in 1946. He also donated the land for Baxter State Park and Mackworth Island.

For a longer walk, head over to the amazing Evergreen Cemetery and stroll along the paved lanes or woodland paths.

Directions: You can park along Stevens Avenue, across Evergreen Cemetery, or you can park in the small three-car parking area at the end of the dead-end Percival Street. I think you can also park along Hartley Lane.
