I’m not a rock climber, but the humongous cliff face of an absolutely enormous boulder — it’s not even really a boulder, more a massive hump, a hill of stone — seems like a good place to climb. Great Works Regional Land Trust describes the preserve as containing “house-sized glacial erratic boulders.”

Right after you have walked by the big rock, the loop trail will take a sharp left. You can go right, though, and wind around the side of the rock and up a little path that will take you to the top of the boulder. Be very careful at the top!

Besides this startling rock, the preserve offers a pleasant 1.2-mile loop in the forest, with some ups and downs.

Directions: From Route One in Ogunquit heading North, take a left onto Berwick Road (later becomes Ogunquit Road). Follow Berwick Road for approximately 3.7 miles. Parking for Kenyon Hill will be on your left just before Bennet Lot Road. The lot is small—big enough for four cars—and a bit rough (or was in spring 2022).
