Ted Wells Memorial Trail in blue; Manor Street trails in red.
The Ted Wells portion of this trail system is closed! And access to the rest of the trail system is limited.
In the old days, the Ted Wells Memorial trail offered a short walk to a boardwalk, beautiful deck and overlook of the protected salt marsh. But this infrastructure was dismantled after deteriorating. Then, for a while you could follow a forested one-way trail to a view on the marsh and its graceful river. But that appears to be closed now, too.
If you’re looking for a longer walk, you can follow unmarked but easy-to-follow trails around the wastewater facility. There are a couple of nice viewpoints along Goosefare Brook. Parking is possible along the wide shoulder at the end of Manor Street.
In the slideshow below, I’m including a map from Saco Bay Trails that shows area trails.
Directions: The best place to park is on Manor Street, on the roadside, close to where it ends at the wastewater treatment plant.
