At the riverbank, you can walk (or slide) down a short, steep incline to the river if you wish, or continue walking downriver 0.2 miles along a narrow path to a gully and stream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A nice route here to follow is the path around the ~6-acre Coffin Pond, which brings you to a great slab of granite on the far side that plunges into the water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Directions: <\/strong>The recreation area is off River Road, about 0.7 miles from the intersection Route 1 (Pleasant Street), across from the Brunswick Golf Club. There is a large parking area, as well as a playground and picnic area. From June 19 to August 23, visitors are charged a day fee.
