But it is still lovely and peaceful). As you walk up the easy to moderate climb to reach the summit, you&#8217;ll pass some sun-drenched, lichen-covered ledges, good places to rest. The trails are all well built and well marked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is also a 0.3-mile trail across the way that takes you to the power line and the large un-trailed part of the preserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Directions: <\/strong>The two trailheads can be found roughly at&nbsp;74 Dougherty Road, and 161 North Pownal Road. From ME231 (Intervale Road), proceed south 0.5 miles on Dougherty Road and then look for a four-car parking lot the left. Alternatively, from Pownal, head north on Chadsey Road (dirt) from Allen Road for 0.8 miles. Chadsey (dirt) becomes Dougherty (paved) at the town line.
