You can leave the trail and bushwhack your way to the rock-lined shore and even go for a swim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The land trust says that at different times in the past, the once bustling commercial cove was home home to salt works, ice works, a brickyard, ferry landing, sawmills and gristmills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong> From the monument in Boothbay Harbor, take Route 27 north for 2.9 miles to River Road. Turn right on River Road and go for 3.2 miles.
