The parking area is a small grassy spot off the road big enough for just a couple of cars. The trail, when I visited, was un-blazed and at least in the beginning, just a narrow track through overgrown grass and weeds. Yet, once you get to the woods, the path becomes easier to follow and walk \u2014 though there appear to be persistent muddy patches. If you take the path down to the shore (about 1 mile), you will come out on a spectacular sandy beach, which you might have all to yourself. It is a good place for a cold swim!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Directions: <\/strong> The trailhead is off Route 191 (Dixie Road), about 1.8 miles south of Boot Cove Road on the right, if you&#8217;re coming from the north.
