You&#8217;ll see a small sign for the Mid-coast Audubon <a href=\"https:\/\/midcoast.maineaudubon.org\/preserves\/\">preserve<\/a> and for parking off Higgins Hill Road. Walk to the backyard and then into the woods. The length of the trail is 0.7 miles, and ends at the marsh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I love the description of this preserve as a \u201cmoss garden,\u201d with moss, liverwort, and lichens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Directions:<\/strong> The trailhead is located at 129 Higgins Hill Road, about one mile from Route 3.
