There&#8217;s about 2.5 miles of trails (retracing your steps) along Long Creek. If you&#8217;re inspired, you can bring a trash bag and pick up litter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/hinckley-park-south-portland\/\">Hinckley Park \u2014<\/a><\/strong> A delightful 40-acre park close to Millcreek Plaza with two ponds and about a 1-mile loop trail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/greenbelt-walkway-south-portland\/\"><strong>Greenbelt Walkway \u2014<\/strong><\/a> Walk more than 5 miles one way on a paved path. Or cycle it!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And connected to the Greenbelt, the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/eastern-trails-off-road-segments-south-portland-to-kennebunk\/\">Eastern Trail<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 This is a long-distance bike path. The off-road sections are great.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/spring-point-shoreway-south-portland\/\">Spring Point Shoreway<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 A heavenly little walk (1.5- to 2ish-miles, or shorter) with a lot of interesting pieces: a sandy beach, history, a light house. Dogs allowed except probably not on the beach in the summer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/long-creek-trail-south-portland\/\">Long Creek Trail<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 A mile walk along the creek, good for locals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/trout-brook-nature-area-south-portland\/\">Trout Brook Nature Area<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 A really lovely &#8220;pocket&#8221; park, with a few short trails.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/dows-woods-trail-south-portland\/\">Dow Woods Trail<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 A short walk in a 9-acre preserve with a 2-acre pond.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-5170","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.6 -
