At Christmas time, a 500-foot section of it is transformed into a dazzling light display.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/davis-conservation-easement-orono\/\">Davis Conservation Easement<\/a>&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2014 You can do an easy 1-mile loop through the woods at this preserve. Some of the trail runs fairly close to the highway.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/piney-knoll-conservation-area\/\">Piney Knoll Conservation Area <\/a><\/strong>\u2014&nbsp;A convenient and pleasant network of trails close to downtown and the university campus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/sklar-park-rampe-conservation-easement-and-jeremiah-colburn-natural-area\/\">Sklar Park, Rampe Conservation Easement, and Jeremiah Colburn Natural Area<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 Three linked preserves, about 122 acres in total, with many miles of walking paths through woods.
