A short wooded trail to a stream, small pond, salt marsh and view of Pleasant Cove. Moderately difficult walking.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/?p=2047\">Zak Preserve<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014&nbsp;2.2 miles of trails, some of which abut&nbsp;the Wildcat Creek watershed. Moderately difficult walking. Connects to River-Link Trail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/linekin-and-burley-preserves-boothbay\/\">Linekin and Burley Preserves<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 A lovely walk, with seashore views. Moderately difficult. Dogs allowed. A bit under three miles in total.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/lobster-cove-meadow-and-appalachee-preserves-boothbay\/\">Lobster Cove Meadow, Appalachee, and Autumn View Preserves<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 Great birding on this ~5-mile walk if you hike all three linked preserves. &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/ocean-point-preserve-boothbay\/\">Ocean Point Preserve<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 A 1-mile loop to a marshy overlook good for birding and to a bench on a rocky ledge by a little pond. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/school-house-pond-preserve-boothbay\/\">Schoolhouse Pond Preserve<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 A 1-mile or so wooded loop. Dogs allowed, as are mountain bikes, horses, ATVs and snowmobiles. Moderately difficult.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/porter-preserve-and-roberts-wharf-boothbay\/\"><strong>Porter Preserve<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 A beautiful trail, roughly a mile, with quiet coves and oceanside ledge.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/gregory-hiking-trail-boothbay\/\"><strong>Gregory Hiking Trail <\/strong><\/a>\u2014 An easy 0.7-mile loop in the woods view views over the Back River.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/ovens-mouth-east-and-west-preserve-boothbay\/\">Ovens Mouth East and West Preserves<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 Gorgeous. Go for a longish (three miles?) and splendid walk here, with your pup. Moderately difficult.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/penny-lake-preserve-boothbay\/\"><strong>Penny Lake Preserve <\/strong><\/a>\u2014 An easy walk through a charming park and preserve, with a 0.5-mile loop in a field and a little more trail action in the woods across a pretty bridge. If you want a longer walk, check out the nearby Boothbay School trails (listed right below).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/boothbay-school-trails\/\">Boothbay School trails<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 You can make a longer walk here by linking up the school trails with Penny Lake Preserve \u2014 the two trail systems are connected by a short stretch on Emery Road. The school trails, best visited when school&#8217;s not in session, are wide and rolling, offering 1 mile of pleasant walking.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/pine-tree-property-boothbay\/\"><strong>Pine Tree Property<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 A 0.9-mile loop, or add a 1.2-mile there-and-back spur. A small pond makes for good bird watching.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/colby-wildlife-preserve-edgecomb\/\"><strong>Colby Wildlife Preserve<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 An&nbsp;easy, short walk to a quiet cove.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/river-link-trail-boothbay\/\">River Link Trail<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 Almost 7 miles one way, this trail takes you from Zak Preserve on Route 27 in Boothbay through Schmid Preserve to Dodge Point in Newcaste. Tricky spots but overall flat and fairly easy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/?p=3870\">Schmid Preserve<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 Roughly five miles of trails, with shorter loops possible. Wooded, dog friendly, one sunny meadow and a lovely old road. Connects to the River-Link Trail.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/p75OtA-1Tk\">Cross River Preserve<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 A 19-acre preserve with access to Cross River, a stream, and a one-mile loop.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/thorpe-preserve-boothbay\/\">Thorpe Preserve<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 A really little but pretty preserve, with just about .2 miles of trails.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/oak-point-farm-boothbay\/\">Oak Point Farm<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 A 32-acre former saltwater farm, with open fields leading to a cove and a gentle 1.1-mile trail network.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/ocean-point-walk-boothbay\/\"><strong>Ocean Point Walk<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 This short but beautiful trail is less than 0.2 miles one way but offers amazing coastal views.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/singing-meadows-preserve-edgecomb\/\">Singing Meadows Preserve<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 A delightful 0.75-mile loop through a field that sings with insects, birds, and amphibians (in the springtime!).
