You can combine it with a dip in Ellisa River if you hike down the River to Ridge Trail. &nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/glassface-ledges-trail-rumford\/\"><strong>Glassface Ledges Trail<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 A 0.8-mile hike takes you to idyllic views of the Androscoggin River and surrounding hills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/swift-river-trail-rumford\/\">Swift River Trail<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 This pleasant half-mile trail that runs along the shallow Swift River is flat and easy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/mystery-mountain-rumford\/\">Mystery Mountain<\/a> <\/strong>\u2014 A relatively easy hike of 0.7 miles (even shorter if you stop at the first nice lookout) brings you to a charming view of the village below nestled in the river valley.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/pennacook-area-community-trails\/\">Pennacook Area Community Trails <\/a><\/strong>\u2014 Approximately 4 miles of single-track bicycling paths through harvested forest behind the high school. Walkers are welcome but make way for riders! The nicest section is along Scotty Brook. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/rumford-community-forest\/\">Rumford Community Forest<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 Inland Woods + Trails is developing a trail network on this 464-acre forest. As of 2025, you can do a couple of moderate hikes, one to a viewpoint, or mosey along a 0.2-mile accessible path beside a stream.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mainebyfoot.com\/stickneys-winter-woodland-walking-trails\/\">Stickney&#8217;s Winter Woodland Walking Trails <\/a><\/strong>\u2014 This small privately-owned trail system\u00a0\u2014 about 1.4 miles in the network \u2014 is on the side of a steep hill near downtown Rumford, offering a peaceful getaway.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-12950","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.6 -
